ISSID
Jan Strelau Program
Professor Jan Strelau (Polish psychologist, ISSID President in years 1993-1995), who made significant contribution to the field of personality and individual differences psychology, spent most of his time in scientific activity behind the "iron curtain.” Throughout all those years, he successfully struggled to achieve a more diverse understanding of individual differences by pushing the artificial boundaries between Western and Eastern Europe.
ISSID Ambasadors
The Jan Strelau’s Program calls for geographical diversification. The ISSID Ambassadors are responsible for encouraging collaboration with scholars from developing countries and countries where this area of psychology is not sufficiently recognized, ensuring that membership and perspectives from the different regions of Europe and the rest of the world are well represented in ISSID and its affiliated journals. In addition, ISSID Ambassadors will encourage the development of local/country associations of personality and individual differences.
Professor Robert Krueger from the University of Minnesota and Dr. Bruno Bonfá-Araujo from the University of Western Ontario are ISSID Ambassadors for 2023-2025. Their program aims to enhance the engagement of the ISSID in South America through a multi-phase initiative.
